What Is The National Dog Walk?

The National Dog Walk is an annual national event organized by the Singapore Kennel Club to:

Raise awareness on responsible dog ownership in a fun way through interaction and participation in canine activities.
Support canine charity organizations to further promote this message and create awareness on the good work that they do (such as dog shelters for abandoned animals, SPCA, Guide Dogs for the blind, Therapy Dogs, etc).
To provide demonstrations on dog sports (such as Agility, Jumpers, Search & Rescue, Narcotics).
To encourage dog owners to promote active lifestyle & support for communities.
Dog sports - to showcase active dog sports with crowd participation and encourage healthy living for humans and dogs.
Human tunnel - to encourage crowd participation and increase tolerance of dogs.
Companion dog events - to promote canine companionship.
Quizes - to promote awareness of responsible dog ownership.
The National Dog Walk - to celebrate National Day, pooches of various breeds and sizes along with their owners and families, walk together, acknowledging the relationship and loyalty that exists between dogs and their owners.

 


What Is The Singapore Kennel Club?

As the national canine organisation of the Republic of Singapore, The Singapore Kennel Club’s mission is to:

Encourage and promote the keeping and breeding of purebred dogs and to improve their quality.
Educate dog owners of their responsibilities.
To promote and encourage dog owners to obedience train their dogs.
Organise, regularise and promote competitive canine events.
Advance canine interests, its companionship and values.
